Security and privacy architecture
Your Files. Your Device. Your Privacy. File-processing tools work locally. Network diagnostics are optional online tests; the specified domain is sent to the testing service. Ads on public pages involve separate advertising requests.
Three separate origins
- freetoolspro.com serves the public pages you are reading: explanations, examples and, where configured, Google AdSense advertising.
- tools.freetoolspro.com runs every file, text and calculator tool inside an embedded frame. It loads no advertising, analytics or third-party code, and its Content Security Policy only allows connections to itself.
- net.freetoolspro.com runs the online DNS and NS lookups. Its policy only allows connections to the Cloudflare and Google DNS-over-HTTPS endpoints.
Because these are different origins, the browser’s same-origin policy stops scripts on the public page, including advertising scripts, from reading what you type or select inside a tool frame. The frame sends exactly one kind of message to the page: its height in pixels, so the page can fit it without a second scroll bar.
What stays on your device
Images, text, CSV, tokens, calculator inputs, pasted DNS records and all results are processed in your browser’s memory and are not uploaded. Results are offered as downloads or copy buttons. Nothing is stored after you close the tab unless you download it.
What leaves your device
- Normal requests to load pages, scripts and styles, which our host receives with your IP address.
- On public pages with advertising: requests to Google and its partners, which may use cookies or identifiers subject to your consent choices.
- Only when you press Look up in DNS or NS Lookup: the domain name you typed, sent to the resolver you chose.
Limits
No website can protect you from a compromised device, a malicious browser extension or a browser bug. We do not claim to be “100% secure”. Clear sensitive inputs when you finish, and check downloads before sharing them.
