When to use crop image

  • Remove unwanted edges.
  • Extract a product or document detail.

How it works

The selected source rectangle is drawn to a fresh canvas and re-encoded. Cropping discards pixels outside the rectangle.

Supported inputs and limits

Offsets and crop dimensions are whole pixels in the displayed, orientation-corrected image. The crop must stay within the source bounds. This rectangular crop does not remove objects inside the selected area.

Safety limits are 25 MiB / 32 megapixels on desktop and 12 MiB / 12 megapixels on touch or low-memory devices, with a maximum side of 8,192 pixels. A smaller limit does not guarantee success on every device. Clear the image to release its preview and output.

Common questions

Can I crop using a keyboard?

Yes. All four pixel controls are labeled numeric inputs and the preview follows those values.

Does the original file change?

No. The result is a separate file. Your source file remains unchanged.
